Randolph-Henry High School is at 755 David Bruce Avenue.  The Middle School is the newer building behind RHHS, on Statesman Drive.

The secluded camping spaces (no hook-ups) near Central Middle School, will work even better with improved entranceway for vehicles and campers.  The "new" space eliminates the problem of intense lighting that we had when camping on school property. Riders will register and have meals at the Middle School, and showers will be available before and after the rides on Saturday and Sunday, as previously. Camping is also available under the arcade at the County Administration Building.
Breakfasts, Saturday Evening Meal, Sunday Brunch at Central Middle School. Saturday lunch on ride routes, with lunch also available at the Middle School for those who finish their ride early.
Bikes may be stored overnight in a secure place in the school. 

A Brief History of the Saponi Indians. Archeological information on the Saponi Indians is on display in the Randolph Station Museum; you may wish to visit Sunday, as the Battlefield Park not be on any route except the Century.    See "ROANOKE (Randolph) STATION." 

Charlotte County is a rural area, with little traffic on the roadways. Because it is rural, motel and hotel housing is available only in nearby towns.

Charlotte County is in the Piedmont area of Virginia. All of the land is above the fall-line, on the Staunton River watershed. (The Staunton is actually a section of the Roanoke River that carries a different name) Even the shorter routes will have some up-and-downhill sections as you approach and ride away from the river valley or cross streams that are heading south to meet that river. The picture below shows a rolling road typical of grades on the Railroad Route.  There are some extra challenges on the Century and Metric Century.
You will pass through small crossroad communities, farmland, and wooded areas. You will meet the Charlotte County neighbors at the various rest stops. All meals will be “home cooked,” and we plan on some home-made rest stop snacks. The local entertainment will also be provided by Charlotte County neighbors. Come & join us!
